Buffalo Firecracker Chicken Wings Recipe
These Firecracker Chicken Wings Bring the Heat AND the Hops!
Buffalo folks, you know wings aren’t a side dish around here. They’re the main event. And these Firecracker Chicken Wings are about to light up your next backyard hang-out, game day party, or random Tuesday.
As part of our Summer Grilling Series with the crew at Resurgence Brewing Co., we’re turning up the flavor with a killer marinade featuring Citmo IPA. This beer brings those citrusy hops that hit different when paired with Frank’s Red Hot, a little heat, and Chiavetta’s Marinade.

Sweet, spicy, tangy, hoppy. These wings don’t mess around. Perfect for summer nights, beer runs, or whenever you feel like flexing your grill skills.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Ingredients
-
25 chicken wings
-
8 oz Frank’s RedHot
-
½ tbsp red pepper flakes
-
⅛ cup brown sugar
-
8 oz Resurgence Citmo IPA (and drink the rest)
-
8 oz Chiavetta’s BBQ Marinade
Directions
-
In a big bowl, mix up Frank’s, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, Citmo IPA, and Chiavetta’s Marinade. Split it in half — one for marinating, one for basting.
-
Toss your wings in one half of the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. (Pro tip: If you’ve got more time, leave ‘em longer. No one’s ever said “these wings have too much flavor.”)
-
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Pull those wings out about 15 minutes before cooking.
-
Grill wings for 30–45 minutes, flipping every so often, until they hit 165°F inside.
-
For the last 15 minutes, baste those bad boys with your reserved marinade every time you flip ‘em
-
Pull ‘em off the grill, crack a cold Citmo, and serve with your favorite bleu cheese.
